Some user have come across a bug in the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime that means that an AddIn is disabled when "Outlook without a UI" is used, sometimes referred to as headless mode!
What does this mean? Well, if you are running ActiveSync or you regularly right click items in explorer in order to 'Send To -> Mail Recipient' you may have found that occasionally when you load Outlook, the spamREF toolbar is missing from the screen and needs to be re-enabled by the 'Options -> Other -> Advanced Options -> COM Add-Ins' route. Pretty annoying if you like your right click and/or ActiveSync!
The good news is the bug has been fixed so you never need to worry again, apparently! Download the vers...

This is the Top Level Domain (TLD) master file. It will change very infrequently but it is changeable to allow for maximum flexibility.
The default location for the file is C:\Program Files\Goose Software Limited\spamREF Outlook Toolbar v2, simply download the file and save it to either that location or whereever you installed spamREF
Right click here and use 'Save Link/Target As...' to save the spamREF.TLD file

For those of you who just must have a log file rather than a message there is always the other setting...
To write the errors to a log file, set the VSTO_LOGALERTS variable to 1 (one). Visual Studio Tools for Office creates the log file in the folder that contains the application manifest. The default name is <Manifestname>.manifest.log.

If, when you try and load an Add-In in Outlook 2003, you get an error in the Load Behaviour section of the COM Add-Ins dialog box under Options, Other, Advanced Options that says "Not Loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in", you can debug the exact reason.
Create a batch file that has the following lines in it:-
SET VSTO_SUPPRESSDISPLAYALERTS=0
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" (or wherever Outlook is installed)
Then make sure Outlook is closed and run the batch file.
Now when you try and load the Add-In manually from Advanced Options you will get the full error message.
You can download a premade batch...

If, when trying to run spamREF, you get an error referencing the CLSID 0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046 then it is likely that the problem is that Symantec Anti Virus has been installed in your computer and has not properly uninstalled.
The fix is simple enough, run regedit from Start -> Run and navigate to the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\InprocServer32
You will see in the (Default) name a value of a path to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Script Blocking\ScrBlock.dll (or similar). The problem is that the file is no longer there. Delete the value and all should be well!
I hope this helps, it took me a long time to track that one dow...

Hector, the main download has been removed while the site etc was moved, expect it to be back soon. All users registered with the main spamREF.net web site will be notified as soon as it goes up so perhaps that is the best way of keeping track.
